Equinux Releases Mac OS X VPN Tracker Version 1.6
March 17, 2003 -- (FIND VPN) -- Virtual private network solutions developer equinux (equinux.com) announced last week that it has released a new version of its VPN program for the Mac OS X operating system.
According to equinux, VPN Tracker 1.6 includes significant improvements, enhancing the performance of the program in the business environment. Users in large and medium-sized enterprises are now able to route to a number of company networks using a VPN connection, a useful feature for IT consultants, who want to help customers with the remote administration of their VPNs.
The new version, says equinux, includes further optimization for the support of VPN appliances from SonicWALL, NetScreen and WatchGuard.
"Over recent weeks, we have further improved the compatibility of VPN Tracker with third-party devices from other manufacturers. The results speak for themselves; VPN Tracker for Mac OS X is the only product on the market that works together with an abundance of VPN devices," said Matthias Spang, Manager of VPN Tracker Interoperability at equinux.
Version 1.6, says equinux, includes a completely revamped user authorization concept, allowing system administrators to let normal users start and stop the VPN connection without administrative authentication.
