Equant Enhances Network Monitoring Tool
March 12, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Equant (equant.com), a leading provider of IP and data services, announced on Tuesday the launch of WebVision v5.0, the latest version of its Web-based customer reporting and service management application.
WebVision, says Equant, has gained wide acceptance since being introduced four years ago, and now serves more than 1,000 users. The new version, says the company, providing more information on more network services than earlier versions of the software and competitor’s products.
The tool, says Equant, provides particularly powerful enhanced service management capabilities for customers of Equant’s IP VPN service. IP VPN customers can now monitor key network statistics such as jitter, delay and packet-loss for each of four classes of VPN service.
According to the company, customers can access Equant WebVision through a standard Web browser, either through an Equant network connection or through the public Internet. WebVision further encrypts this information to ensure security.
Version 5.0 of the WebVision software provides a range of new features and functions including access to component configurations so customers can monitor every element of their network; network performance indicators including quality of service, availability, delay and SLAs; the ability for customers to interact online with Equant customer service centers; real-time VPN management with a graphical display of the customer’s network topology; and delay, data delivery; and duration statistics for Eqquant ATM, Frame Relay and IP Dial.
“It is essential that multinational corporations have real time visibility of how their mission-critical applications are performing,” says Carl Robertson, head of Equant Customer Care. “With more than 1,000 users, Equant WebVision is the proven service management application for multinationals.”
