Enterasys Debuts XSR-1850 Security Router
November 19, 2002 -- Enterprise networking solution provider Enterasys Networks Inc. (Enterasys.com) announced on Monday that it has released the new Enterasys Security Router 1850 (XSR-1850), a security router designed for enterprise branch offices.
The new product, says Enterasys, extends the application of the Enterasys Security Router 1800 series by increasing performance and redundancy, as well as providing additional expansion options and memory. The company’s security routers combine a full suite of IP router features, a range of WAN interfaces and enterprise-class virtual private networking.
"Enterprise remote offices are increasingly vulnerable to internal and external security threats,” says Gil Arbel, executive vice president of product management for Enterasys. “Leading edge organizations need ways to better secure their intellectual property, especially at these remote locations. With the Enterasys Security Router 1850, we continue to deliver a high-performance solution with many options for future security features and applications, while still offering best-in-class performance."
Enterasys also announced new Virtual Private Network firmware for the Enterasys Security Router 1800 series. The standards-based VPN feature set is built to meet enterprise requirements for site-to-site, extranet or remote access connectivity.
