DSL.net Launches NETlink VPN Service
June 26, 2002 -- High-speed Internet access solution provider DSL.net Inc. (DSL.net) announced last week that it has introduced its new NETlink virtual private network service for businesses seeking secure inter-office communications without implementing and managing a conventional VPN.
DSL.net says its NETlink VPN provides secure access to corporate intranets, proprietary databases and email, allowing branch office employees to exchange information with personnel based at headquarters, resulting in an improvement in communication and productivity.
"NETlink expands our growing portfolio of feature-rich, value-added service offerings and represents another very positive development for our customers and for DSL.net," says Keith Markley, president and chief operating officer of DSL.net. "It addresses the increasingly growing demand of small- and medium-sized businesses looking for a cost-effective, secure VPN solution while providing us with an additional revenue source from facilities we have already deployed."
Using DSL.net’s extensive national network, says the company, NETlink provides customers with a secure, network-based solution over a private IP backbone. NETlink traffic is separated from public Internet traffic, insuring protection from interception.
