CyberGuard "Best in Show" at FOSE 2002
March 25, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- CyberGuard Corporation (cyberguard.com), a technology leader in network security, announced on Thursday that its KnightSTAR premium appliance firewall/VPN earned the “Best in Show” award at FOSE, a yearly government information technology conference held in Washington DC.
The KS firewall/VPN appliance was the winner of “Best New Technology at FOSE” in the security hardware category. The “Best in Show” award, says CyberGuard, was chosen from among the award-winning finalists in 11 categories.
Each entry was judged for its innovation, value and importance to the federal market by a panel of 13 editors from Government Computer News, a Post Newsweek Tech Media Group publication. The Post Newsweek Tech Media Group also presents FOSE, an annual event that draws information technology companies from around the world that do business with the federal government.
According to CyberGuard, the KnightSTAR premium appliance firewall earned the “Reviewer’s Choice Award” and an overall grade of “A” from GCN. The company has since introduced an integrated VPN into its appliances, and says the new combination is particularly well suited to the high security requirements of a complex, mobile, remote work force such as the armed services.
