CyberTAN Picks SSH for VPN Security
March 17, 2003 -- (FIND VPN) -- Internet security solutions developer SSH Communications Security (SSH.com) announced on Tuesday that it has licensed two of its products for integration into network systems developer CyberTAN's new CableHome Solution and VPN routers product line.
According to the terms of the agreement, says SSH, CyberTAN will use the SSH Certificate Toolkit and SSH Certifier certification authority solutions to enable its broadband cable network services to support digital certificate functions and enable easy online authentication between cable services providers and subscribers. CyberTAN will integrate the SSH Certificate Toolkit into its cable devices products and use the SSH Certifier to pre-install digital certificates before shipment.
"Today, broadband services offer businesses and home users a cost-effective, high-speed connection for email and Internet access with an 'always on' connection," said Jean-Bernard Dumerc, vice president of sales, Asia Pacific, SSH Communications Security Corp. "However, having these benefits with an open connection creates a security risk for malicious attacks on the appliances. Integrating SSH Certifier, CyberTAN can offer a secure, transparent solution to deploy, maintain and upgrade remote appliances."
