Check Point, HP Offer VPN-1 SecureClient with iPAQ
December 13, 2002 -- Internet security solution provider Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (CheckPoint.com) announced this week that its Check Point VPN-1 SecureClient software is featured on the HP iPAQ Pocket PC h5450 Companion CD, delivering secure network connectivity for iPAQ Pocket PC handheld devices.
Check Point says its VPN-1 SecureClient delivers centrally managed personal firewall protection and VPN connectivity, ensuring that remote devices maintain the same level of security as the corporate network. The collaborative effort, says Check Point, furthers the initiative announced with HP earlier this year, for the delivery of seamless security to every element of an enterprise network, including gateways, servers, clients and mobile devices.
"97 of the Fortune 100 companies use Check Point solutions today and many have indicated that they are eager to enable VPN connectivity from handhelds such as the iPAQ Pocket PC," says Scott McFarlane, vice president, sales operations, Check Point Software Technologies. "VPN-1 SecureClient running on the HP iPAQ Pocket PC enables enterprises to maximize productivity and efficiency by delivering secure connectivity to mobile employees accessing corporate resources from handheld devices."
According to Check Point, the VPN-1 SecureClient for the iPAQ Pocket PC includes centrally managed personal firewall protection and VPN connectivity, secured by Check Point certification for optimal security and interoperability and centrally administered security updates with one-click installation.
