Celestix Launches Taurus One VPN Appliance
March 28, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Celestix Networks Inc. (celestix.com), a leading provider of networking appliance solutions, announced on Wednesday the release of Taurus One, the company’s latest “Secured by Check Point” VPN security appliance.
The Taurus One appliance, says Celestix, integrates Check Point’s VPN-1/FireWall-1 Next Generation (NG), delivering a security solution suitable for large enterprises, remote offices and small businesses.
Designed for rapid deployment, says the company, the Taurus One is able to secure an entire network within 15 minutes. The device can be managed locally through a standard Web browser or centrally through any of Check Point’s management software offerings. An LCD panel on the device provide critical information and control.
"The raw processing power of the Taurus One, coupled with the aggressive price point, raises the price and performance bar for the entire industry," says Umar Hameed, vice president of business development and marketing for Celestix Networks. "The Taurus One marks our entry into the enterprise security space, rounding out our security offerings. Now we secure the home, all the way up to the enterprise."
Based on the Celestix hardware platform, the Taurus One delivers a fast and efficient appliance, says Celestix, with 190 Mbps of firewall throughput and 140 Mbps of 3DES VPN throughput. The device is available with either three or six 10/100-ethernet ports incorporated, pre-installed with Check Point FloodGate-1 software for policy-based bandwidth management.
