Brix, Spirent Provide IP Assurance Management

April 12, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Brix Networks (brixnet.com), a service assurance solution provider, and Spirent Communications, a business group of Spirent plc, announced that they have teamed to provide a comprehensive IP service management solution for service providers worldwide.

According to the agreement, Spirent Communications will integrate Brix Networks’ IP service assurance into its CenterOp intelligent service management operations support system platform.

Based on the needs of service providers to unify management of converging IP services, says Brix, the partnership is designed to create a solution for visibility into IP services across all seven layers of the Open System Interconnection reference model.

According to Brix, a critical part of delivering emerging data services is enabling end-to-end management of IP services from the point of origin, through core networks, multi-vendor routing technologies and the customer premises, facilitating the assurance and integrity of customers’ network infrastructures.

The rapid adoption of IP-based communications in the form of voice, media, data and virtual private networks, says Brix, relies on the ability of providers to meet customer expectations in managing those services.
