Brasil Telecom Picks Avaya Manged VPN
August 6, 2002 -- Voice and data network provider Avaya (Avaya.com) announced on Tuesday that Brasil Telecom, one of Brazil’s leading telecommunications providers, will use Avaya’s VPN solution to provide managed virtual private networks to its clients.
Brasil Telecom’s new "VPN Simple" solution, says Avaya, allows business to improve network communications with its subsidiaries, customers, suppliers and partners.
The "VPN Simple" is designed to address the needs of business customers, including small and medium enterprises. The offering is based on Avaya’s VPNremote Client software at the customer site and the Avaya VSU-10000 Gateway hosted at the Brasil Telecom data center.
"Avaya's VPN capability is key to delivering secure managed remote access and connectivity services to small and medium businesses in Brazil," says Yon Silva, vice president, Brasil Telecom. "We chose Avaya because of its strength in converged voice and data systems and the reliability of its VPN solutions."
Avaya’s portfolio of managed and hosted solutions for service providers includes Hosted Customer Relationship Management, Hosted IP Telephony, Managed IP Telephony and Service Provider Managed Virtual Private Network.
