Best Brands Picks SAVVIS Managed IP Network
August 19, 2002 -- Managed IP service provider SAVVIS Communicaitons (SAVVIS.com) said on Monday that baking industry manufacturer Best Brands Corp. has chosen SAVVIS to provide managed IP VPN service.
Along with the VPN service, says SAVVIS, Best Brands will use SAVVIS’s broadband Internet service.
The IP VPN services will be implemented to support Best Brands’ applications, including data transfers, file sharing, corporate intranet, invoicing and accounting, email and videoconferencing. Remote users will also have access to the company’s network through secure dial-in accounts.
Best Brands previously used a major carrier for its network service, but ended the relationship when it was unsatisfied. The company says its research revealed that SAVVIS’s approach to IP VPNs was the managed solution that delivered the scalability Best Brands required.
"Best Brands is an important win for SAVVIS," said Jim Mori, executive vice president and general manager of the Americas, for SAVVIS. "They're a company that has grown into one of the largest bakery product suppliers in the country, and their name has become synonymous with quality and reliability. Their story is representative of a growing a segment of mid-sized businesses seeking a best-in-class managed network service that is backed by superior SLAs. When a high volume of mission-critical data is exchanged, network performance can't be compromised."
