Behr Picks Equant IP VPN to Connect Sites
March 17, 2003 -- (FIND VPN) -- Global data and IP services provider Equant (Equant.com) announced on Monday that it has extended its contract with automotive air-conditioning and engine cooling systems specialist Behr GmbH & Co. KG until 2005 to connect 14 sites on four continents with its Equant IP VPN and Voice for IP VPN.
Equant says Behr is the company's 750th IP VPN customer. The solution will consist of the Equant IP VPN with five different classes of service, and will interconnect sites in Europe, South Africa, South America and the US with Behr's headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany.
According to Equant, the IP VPN service will provide Behr with a range of benefits including high-performance any-to-any connectivity; the ability to prioritize business-critical applications and run multiple applications over a single network; the ability to maximize bandwidth use and optimize application performance; fast, effective access to SAP applications from a central server; and monitoring and management of the solution by Equant, with service level and network performance reports via Equant's WebVision customer service portal.
"We welcome Behr to our growing IP VPN family," said Howard Ford, Equant's president of Markets and Sales. "The IP VPN is definitely the network of the future."
