Aventail Launches Entry-Level SSL VPN Managed Appliance
August 26, 2002 -- VPN solution developer Aventail Corporation (Aventail.com) announced on Monday that it has launched its Aventail SA-1000 managed appliance, and has plans to launch a stand-alone appliance in October.
The offering, says Aventail, provides an inexpensive entry point for corporations seeking to quickly roll out remote access and extranet VPNs on limited scale, secure their Wireless LAN pilot projects or provide access in geographically dispersed environments.
The SA-1000 is based on Aventail’s scalable technology platform, which the company says has been used by over 400,000 end users and nearly 400 large enterprises. The SA-1000 delivers secure access to a range of client/server applications, clientless access to Web applications, high security and simple administration.
Aventail says the SA-1000 delivers enterprise-level functionality for as little as $5,000 per month. It can be upgraded to the Aventail SA-9000 and both managed devices integrate with the company’s suite of Aventail.Net managed services.
