Aventail Announces SSL VPN Platform Update
June 26, 2002 -- Internet security solution provider Aventail Corporation (Aventail.com) announced on Monday that it has released the latest updates to its SSL VPN technology platform, which provides secure access to Web and client/server applications.
Made up of the Aventail Anywhere VPN v5 and Aventail Secure Web Access v4 products, the platform is designed to improve the clientless end user experience and make deploying and administering remote access and extranet VPNs easier and more secure.
Aventail says that enterprises are beginning to look more closely at VPN solutions based on SSL, the protocol used to secure e-commerce transactions.
Among the highlights of the new release, says Aventail, is directory integration, designed to reduce the cost of deployment in multi-directory enterprises; advanced customization options to help meet each customer’s unique requirements; centralized security for stronger control over insecure desktops; and desktop intelligence, intended to provide users with true anywhere access.
The Aventail Anywhere VPN v5 and Secure Web Access v4 are available immediately, priced on a per-user per-month basis.
