Astaro Best of Show Finalist at LinuxWorld
August 10, 2002 -- Security solution developer Astaro Corporation (Astaro.com) announced on Friday that it has been selected as a finalist for the Best of Show award at the upcoming LINUXWORLD Conference & Expo to be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, from August 12 to 15.
Astaro says it is one of the five finalists for the Best of Show award in the security products category for its Astaro Security Linux Version 3, an integrated firewall, VPN, anti-virus and URL content filtering software solution that includes a hardened Linux kernel.
"With an entry license price of $390, the Astaro Security Linux All-in-One product is an affordable alternative to high-cost, high-maintenance firewalls such as those offered by Cisco, Check Point and NetScreen," said Ernst Kelting, president of Astaro Corporation.
Astaro says its firewall’s stateful packet inspection guards against denial-of-service and other attacks, while the VPN authenticates via IPsec and pre-shared key.
