Astrocom, Concergent Partner for VPN Failover
May 6, 2003 -- (FIND VPN) -- WAN aggregation and fail-over solution provider Astrocom Corporation (AstroCorp.com) announced on Monday that it has formed a strategic partnership with VPN connectivity solution provider Concergent (Concergent.com), to deliver a solution for high availability VPNs.
Through the agreement, Concergent will integrate Astrocom's PowerLink networks appliances into its existing VPN services to deliver high-availability, always-connected VPN services to its customers. Concergent will market the solution under its brand name through a non-exclusive private labeling agreement.
"Like Concergent, we recognize that both internal and remote VPN users need highly available mission-critical access, currently either not available or affordable from their Internet service providers. This combined complimentary solution addresses these needs and offers Concergent customers the value and ease of use their organizations are demanding," said Ron Thomas, Astrocom's President and CEO.
Astrocom says PowerLink adds its multi-homing, WAN fail-over/redundancy features to achieve high availability for all Internet traffic including VPN services. If a link should fail, traffic is automatically moved to the active link. When the failed link is restored, the connection is recognized and put back into use.
