Asita Technologies Launches North American Expansion
July 22, 2002 -- Internet security systems developer Asita Technologies (AsitaTechnologies.com) announced on Thursday that it has begun a major expansion, intended to make the company’s Internet firewall and VPN systems available to American businesses.
The company says it began doing business in the European Union where stricter regulations made Internet security a higher priority earlier. Asita says the United States’s recently heightened security focus prompted the company to move to increase its North American presence this year.
"Security obviously has a much larger role in North American organizations than it did a year ago," said J. Cleve Adams, Asita vice president. "The realization that civilian, as well as government entities are viable targets for physical and electronic attacks has increased the demand for sophisticated network and information security systems tenfold."
The company says it has established a national sales and technical force and is building a network of resellers with the goal of becoming a dominant force in firewall and VPN appliances within 12 months.
"Asita is known in Europe as a leader in the development of powerful information security systems for public agencies and private enterprises," says Adams. "Our intent is to quickly establish the same reputation here in North America by fielding a team that can demonstrate Asita's products provide abilities well beyond those within the mainstream market today."
