Alcatel Expert to Participate in VoIP Showdown

October 4, 2002 -- IP communication company Alcatel (Alcatel.com) announced on Wednesday that Dr. Jack Jachner, chief technology officer of Alcatel eBusiness Netwoking Division will be a panelist at an upcoming technology conference event.

Jachner will appear in the IP Centrex versus IP-PBX showdown at the Voice on the Net (VON) conference October 7 in Atlanta, representing the Alcatel IP-PBX solution for enterprises or for managed service provider portfolios.

The company says it will be grouped with two other vendors on the IP-PBX team, which will challenge the IP Centrex team for the best response to a mock request for information. Audience members will be allowed to question vendors on both teams and vote for the team with the better overall story.

Alcatel delivers its standards-based IP communications solutions to a customer base of over 500,000 enterprises, government agencies, healthcare facilities and educational institutions.
