Acme Packet Picks Empirix VoIP Testing
May 11, 2003 -- (FIND VPN) -- Network and Web applications testing and monitoring solution provider Empirix Inc. (Empirix.com) announced this week that its Hammer ST and RealStreamer systems have been chosen by voice, video and multimedia solutions provider Acme Packet to test its Net-Net family of session border controllers.
Hammer ST, says Empirix, is a flexible testing tool for signaling protocols. It tests SIP, H.323, MGCP, Megaco and other VoIP protocols. The company says leading R&D and QA groups use the product to test protocol features, perform negative testing, manage regression suites and assess signaling performance through load testing.
The solution is fully integrated with the RealStreamper product for generating RTP media. RealStreamer, says Empirix, offers the ability to generate and terminate media for up to 15,000 calls, and can collect metrics on a per-stream basis.
"Working with Acme Packet is great for us," said, Phil Odence, Empirix Director of Business Development. "Their innovative session border controller products are changing the VoIP landscape. Understanding and meeting their needs keeps Empirix products on the cutting edge of VoIP test."
