V-ONE CEO Named to President's Advisory Council

September 27, 2002 -- VPN security product provider V-ONE Corporation (V-ONE.com) announced this week that its president and CEO Margaret E. Grayson has been appointed to the National Infrastructure Advisory Council (NIAC) serving at the request of President George W. Bush.

Created by an October 2001 Excutive Order on Critical Infrastructure Protection, the NIAC was designed to ensure the safety of vital information systems infrastructures, including emergency preparedness communications and the physical systems that support them.

According to the order, the NIAC will provide the President advice on the security of information systems for critical infrastructure supporting sectors of the economy. The council will also propose and develop methods for encouraging private industry to perform risk assessments of critical information and communications systems.

"I am honored to be selected by the President to serve as a member of NIAC and I look forward to working with Mr. Clarke and the other Council members," says Grayson. "The creation of this Council highlights the serious attention being given by the President to potential threats not only against the American people and our Nation's physical structures, but also against our critical data infrastructures."
