Check Point Supports Clientless VPN
July 30, 2002 -- Internet security provider Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (CheckPoint.com) announced on Tuesday that it will support “clientless” SSL-based VPNs that enable flexible, secure remote access from any standard Web browser or Windows L2TP VPN client.
The company also announced enhancements to its SecureVPN solutions, designed to increase security for clients, improve VPN monitoring capabilities and simplify deployment. The addition of SSL to the SecureVPN technology, allows enterprises a greater range of secure access options when providing VPN connectivity.
"Check Point SecureVPN solutions offer the industry's most comprehensive and flexible choices for client connectivity," says Gil Shwed, Chairman and CEO of Check Point Software Technologies. "Between VPN-1 SecuRemote, VPN-1 SecureClient, and new 'clientless' methods, Check Point VPN users can connect from nearly any type of device or networking environment."
The new solutions, says Check Point, extend the company’s VPN-1/FireWall-1 product family, including enhanced client security with pre-configured client security assurance checks; improved VPN routing capabilities with support for hub-and-spoke technologies; and new VPN monitoring capabilities that offer more information on performance and usage.
