Check Point Introduces VPN-1 Net, VPN-1 Pro
April 12, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Check Point Software Technologies (checkpoint.com), a leader in securing the Internet, Introduced on Monday two additions to its VPN-1/FireWall-1 family of network security solutions, VPN-1 Net and VPN-1 Pro.
A dedicated virtual private network solution, says Check Point, VPN-1 Net addresses the connectivity concerns of networking or telecommunications managers looking for a simple, cost-effective way to multiple offices and remote workers. The product offers quick and easy “one click” setup, tunnel-based pricing, to ease migration away from legacy WAN deployments and access control based on Check Point’s stateful inspection technology.

"Check Point's industry leading SecureVPN solutions are an effective alternative to frame relay and leased lines, and meet the full range of deployment requirements, from the connectivity-focused VPN-1 Net to an integrated VPN and firewall solution, VPN-1 Pro."
The VPN-1 Pro, says Check Point, is an improvement on its predecessor, VPN-1 Gateway, with new enhancements designed to make VPN technology easier to deploy and manage. VPN-1 Pro includes support for VPN Communities, including remote access, site-to-site and extranets, VPN star topology deployments to accommodate network configurations and a streamlined VPN policy creation and management dashboard.
The Check Point VPN-1 Net and VPN-1 Pro are included in the Feature Pack 2 release of Check Point Next Generation, available immediately. VPN-1 Net starts at $1,000 for five tunnels.
