Check Point Introduces Data Center VPN/Firewall

March 26, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (checkpoint.com), a leader in Internet security, announced the release of a new carrier-class multi-policy Internet security solution for service provider and corporate data centers, called Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1 VSX.

Using VLAN technology and software virtualization, says Check Point, VPN-1/FireWall-1 VSX scales the companys VPN-1/FireWall-1 product to create up to 100 separate virtual systems on a single hardware platform. The product is designed to reduce the hardware investment required to deliver security from the data center as well as cutting down the time and effort involved in provisioning separate security policies.

"This scalability dramatically shortens provisioning of security from the data center while increasing operational efficiency," says Carol Stone, vice president, worldwide marketing for Check Point Software Technologies

VPN-1/FireWall-1 VSX, says Check Point, uses the companys SecureXL performance technology to deliver multi-gigabit throughput.

The product is designed to enable simple provisioning and management of security policies using a three-step process for policy creation, configuration and enforcement, one-click policy application to all customers and an intuitive security dashboard for easy navigation and management.

The release of VPN-1/FireWall-1 VSX, says Check Point, allows service providers to deploy Check Points VPN and firewall product to many customers or VLANs simply, and with carrier-class performance and redundancy.
