Avanade Introduces Site-to-Site VPN Solution
April 3, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Avanade Inc. (avanade.com), a technology integrator for Microsoft solutions, announced on Tuesday that it has made available its site-to-site virtual private network solution.
According to Avanade, its VPN solution can help enterprises cut networking costs dramatically by integrating security applications with other platform components, creating an integrated, multi-layer security perimeter.
The solution, says Avanade, was originally developed by the company in an effort to securely connect its 1,200 users spread throughout its global network of 17 offices and three data centers. Avanade expects it will save millions of dollars over dedicated point-to-point data circuits, providing network security, reduced bandwidth costs, better user responsiveness and the ability for local offices to easily publish content for customer access.
"VPN technologies have a significant value proposition around reducing network costs and rapidly enabling e-business capabilities through secure extranets," says Ashish Kumar, CTO of Avanade. "We are pleased to offer this compelling solution to our customers at a time when they are simultaneously trying to manage IT costs and improve connectivity within and outside their enterprise."
Avanade says its VPN solution is designed to incorporate the functions of Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2000, Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server, Windows 2000 Active Directory service and standard networking protocols.
