Qwest to Resell SafeNet Products to US Government

March 2, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- SafeNet (safenet-inc.com), a leading provider of Internet security technology and trendsetter in the VPN industry, announced on Thursday that it had signed an agreement with telecommunications powerhouse Qwest communications (qwest.com).

According to the agreement, Qwest will make SafeNet VPN products and services available to its customers in the US government, including its highly secure Manged VPN services.

The two companies, says SafeNet, signed the agreement in an effort to build upon contracts that have been won in the Department of Treasury, Department of Energy and Department of Defense.

Qwest will provide the government agencies with network infrastructure services from its network operations center. SafeNet will provide VPN products from its SafeEnterprise family and Managed VPN services from its secure network operations center, the SafeNet Trusted Service Center.

The combination of the leading capabilities from the two companies, says SafeNet, will offer government agencies a variety of options for deploying secure and reliable communications.

"We are excited that Quest has joined our distinguished group of resellers to offer SafeNet VPN products and services more readily to the Federal government. Qwest has a great reputation for providing high quality network services and this agreement provides a natural technology partnership with our SafeEnterprise products and services," says Tony Caputo, CEO and Chairman of SafeNet.
