Quintum and Anyuser.net Provide Global VoIP

March 26, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- VoIP solutions provider Quintum Technologies Inc. (quintum.com) announced on Tuesday that it has formed a technology and marketing agreement with Anyuser.net Co. Ltd. (anyuser.net), a global voice-over-IP service provider, to deliver IP-based telephone services to corporate customers worldwide.

The agreement, says Quintum, allows users of Quintum’s Tenor MultiPath switches to take advantage of Anyuser.net’s flat-rate Internet phone services as part of their corporate VoIP implementations. This, says the company, can significantly reduce telecom costs without compromising voice service levels.

According to the terms of the agreement, Anyuser.net will use Quintum MultiPath switches throughout its network as its preferred customer premises equipment and for its own local POPs. Quintum says Anyuser.net plans to deploy 2000 Tenor switches worldwide.

“The Tenor switch provides customers with a very high level of comfort and convenience, which is important as they make the move to IP-based telephony,” says Simon Kim, general manager of Anyuser.net. “We look forward to a successful long-term relationship with Quintum as we work together to aggressively expand the global corporate IP telephony market.”

Anyuser.net’s advanced IP telephony network can terminate calls in more than 240 countries, and can handle more than one million minutes. In addition to its full suite of consumer IP telephony services, the company provides a range of products for channel partners and telecommunications companies seeking structured solutions and “IP Centrex” capabilities, says Quintum.

The ability to rapidly activate Anyuser.net’s service is an added incentive for Quinnum’s customers, says Chuck Rutledge, vice president of marketing for Quintum. “Customers are already experiencing healthy ROI on their enterprise VoIP implementations using our Tenor architecture. The addition of flat-rate international calling to these deployments via Anyuser.net will further boost that ROI without imposing any additional hassle or risk.”

The integrated Quintum/Anyuser.net solution has been fully tested and is available immediately. Quintum customers who want to activate Anyuser.net services must be running Tenor switch firmware release 4.2 or later.
