Frost & Sullivan Calls Equant Company of the Year

March 11, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Equant, a leader in global IP and data services, announced on Monday that it has received Frost & Sullivan’s 2002 Market Engineering Company of the Year award for its Voice for IP VPN service.

The Frost & Sullivan Market Engineering Company of the Year Award is presented to companies demonstrating excellence in the sectors on which Frost & Sullivan focuses. The selection of Equant in 2002, says the company, was based on factors such as the company’s business development, competitive strategy and customer service leadership.

"Equant has set itself apart by offering a highly reliable and scalable solution, backed by the company's solid reputation and strong capabilities to deploy the service on a truly global scale."

Equant says its Voice for IP VPN is a fully integrated service option for Equant IP VPN, a product that was also recognized by Frost & Sullivan last October with its 2001 Global Marketing Strategy Award. Equant says its IP VPN, launched in August 1999, was the industry’s first MPLS-based IP VPN solution and is the most widely deployed today, with availability in more than 135 countries.

Nearly 500 companies, says Equant, including Anglo-American PLC, BBC Worldwide Ltd., European Commission/TESTA, K Line, McCormick, Renault Spain and South African Breweries, have signed up for the IP VPN service. Of those, more than 50 employ the Voice for IP VPN option.
